This is a first edition hardback book with blue cloth covers in very good condition and the matching blue slipcase which is slightly worn. Some of the most famous painters, sculptors and artists of the 20th century were commissioned by the Baron Philip de Rothschild to create a work of art to grace the label for his famous Mouton Rothschild wine. This book concentrates on those done since the end of the second world war in 1945 and up to 1981. Each work for each year is shown together with a description and short biography of the artist. Those featured include Georges Braque, Salvador Dali, Henry Moore, Pablo Picasso and Andy Warhol.
